What Are Credits?

Credits are the currency for document processing and AI operations in Notoria. Every document upload, processing step, and AI Chat interaction consumes credits.

Granted Credits (Monthly Allowance)

Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance:

  • Solo - 450,000 credits per month
  • Professional - 2,000,000 credits per month
  • Team - 12,000,000 credits per month

These credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused granted credits do not roll over - they are replaced by the new month's allowance.

Purchased Credits (Persistent)

You can buy additional credit packs:

  1. Click "Settings" in the sidebar.
  2. Go to the "Billing" tab.
  3. Select a credit pack and complete the purchase.

Purchased credits never expire and carry over between months. Notoria uses your granted credits first, then draws from purchased credits.

How Credits Are Consumed

Document processing (validation, transcription, description, tagging, and embedding) uses credits based on file size and type. AI Chat interactions consume credits per message. The exact credit cost varies by operation.

Checking Your Balance

  1. Click "Settings" in the sidebar.
  2. Go to the "Billing" tab.

The billing page shows your current credit balance (granted + purchased), usage for the current period, and transaction history.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Document processing and AI Chat stop working until credits are replenished - either at the next billing cycle (for granted credits) or by purchasing more. Your existing documents remain fully accessible.

Do unused granted credits roll over?

No. Granted credits reset each billing cycle. Only purchased credits persist across months.

How many credits does a typical document use?

It varies by file size and type, but a single-page image typically uses a small fraction of even the Solo plan's monthly allowance.
